Every summer, people all over the United States love running off to their cabin for time with family and friends. For some, it might be up north at the lake. For others, it might be getting away to quiet woods or fields. No matter where you enjoy getting away, having a modern cabin help you get away from reality for a while is nothing short of a blessing.

Modern cabins are beautiful structures inspired by our history of gathering around lakes. Those inspirations, combined with a modern twist of comfort, provide the perfect space to get away.

When you’re ready to start your journey toward building or purchasing a cabin, it can be hard knowing what direction to take it in or even how to start. We’ve created this list of incredible modern cabin examples to help you get inspired and excited for your future cabin.

8 Incredible Modern Cabin Examples

To start our list, let’s look at this black and white a-frame. These a-frame cabins are becoming trendy all over again and for a good reason. Not only are these cabins stunning on the exterior, but the interior is also fantastic and draws in beautiful open elements.

The outside of this cabin is an example of how something beautiful can be very simple and fun as well.

Our next photo is of the inside of that same a-frame. You can see how an a-frame could make the perfect modern cabin getaway. Especially when it’s as beautifully decorated as this one. Notice the contrasting wood colors from the walls and the beams, as well as the use of white cabinets and wood countertops. State-of-art appliances are also included to complement the hard floor. Lastly, there is a canopy on the second-floor loft that allows the bedroom to be closed off and intimate.

Next up we have an example of some amazing windows in this modern cabin. While you can’t always expect to have such amazing beautiful days as the one in this photo, who wouldn’t love these windows. Floor to ceiling windows are a great way to bring in natural light and set an ambiance like no other.

We’ve included this one for the exterior design and windows, as well as the beautiful deck. One of the best features of this modern cabin is the exposed wood siding. While it doesn’t specifically use logs, it does still maintain that feel and look. The black accent of the deck railing and windows are also great!

This cabin is teeming with an even more modern design. While you might not think of this as the perfect getaway simply because of the snow, we’re here to assure you that a modern cabin-like this would be the perfect escape.

A cozy corner is perfect in any cabin. If you’ve been trying to come up with some inspiration for how to take your modern cabin to the next level, try adding something like this in the corner. Our favorite part about this is the shiplap and reclaimed wood walls along with the natural wood desk.
